The selection starts with the product
Different packages require different support, advancement and delivery conditions. Gather the item's dimensions, mass, shape, stiffness, and variations. A photo helps with the initial conversation; representative samples make it possible to evaluate the behavior in the mechanism.
Also define the mix: how many types of products need to coexist, how they will be organized and what the intended storage capacity is. The configuration must consider the relevant extremes of shape and mass.
Relate the mechanism to withdrawal
Conveyors can guide the product to the exit; spindles or springs organize advancement and release according to the geometry of the items. An elevator may be part of the route to the pick-up area. The selection is not limited to the appearance of the product: friction, stability, separation and delivery condition need to be evaluated.
Discover the vending machine configurations and present handling restrictions to engineering. Fragile products, flexible packaging or different sizes may require specific solutions.
Define how the person will use the equipment
Sale, authorized withdrawal and distribution of samples are different routines. Inform whether the operation requires payment, identification, authorization, delivery registration or stock consultation. These features depend on the scope and available integrations; they should not be assumed to be items in all configurations.
When involving identification of people, assess what data is needed and what responsibilities fall to each participant. Control and communication resources need to be defined along with the purpose of use.
Include the routine of those who supply and maintain
The equipment must allow replacement and maintenance compatible with the location. Describe supply frequency, access, electrical network, connectivity and environmental conditions. Consider how undelivered items and product shortages will be identified and handled.
To compare proposals, align the same supply boundaries: structure, mechanisms, interface, integration, documentation, training and support.
Organize the request
Before request analysis and quote, gather:
- List of available products and samples.
- Desired capacity and replacement frequency.
- Method of selection, payment or authorization.
- Location, access and installation conditions.
- Acceptance criteria for pickup and delivery.
This data helps to separate what is platform configuration and what requires additional development, keeping the proposal linked to the intended operation.
