Midiograf
More production pace, less effort in operation.
At the output of the folder-gluers, Carioli Cartesian robots remove and palletize boxes. The results are described by the people who oversee the operation.
The context
From the folder-gluer output to the pallet.
In the printing industry, the output of folder-gluers needs to keep up with the pace of production until the boxes are organized on pallets.
The challenge
Coordinate the removal of volumes and the formation of cargo, reducing the demand for repetitive movement on the team.
The solution
Two similar Cartesian robots, completed by Carioli for Midiograf, applied to the automatic removal and palletizing of boxes coming from the folder-gluers.
The result in the industry
From 5 to 3 people, with the line reaching 300 m/min.
In the operation with small boxes, Nivaldo Benvenho, from Midiograf, reports greater line speed and less team fatigue after robotization.
Before
- People in the operation
- 5 people
- Line speed
- 240 m/min
With robotization
- People in the operation
- 3 people
- Line speed
- until 300 m/min
The numbers describe the report of this operation with small boxes. The speed quoted is that of the production line, not the speed of the robot.

“Good afternoon, we were able to work today with just 3 people at up to 300 meters per minute, before to reach 240 meters we needed 5 people in small boxes. Besides, no one gets tired like before!”
The process
Connect the machine output to the load organization.
Carioli developed and supplied Cartesian robots for the automatic removal of boxes from folder-gluers. The operation required synchronization with the existing machine and repetitive movement in an industrial environment.
The technical guide lists boxes weighing approximately 25 kg in this application. This data does not establish the mass of the small boxes mentioned in the statement; load and capacity are evaluated in each configuration.
Technical aspects of the application
- Removal of boxes at the exit of existing equipment.
- Synchronization between product arrival and robot movement.
- Organization of products on pallets.
- Integration of structure, guidance, transmission and control.
