Applications of Cartesian robots

Palletizing

Build layers and prepare production output.

The process

From the arrival of the product to the formation of the layers.

Palletizing begins when the product arrives and ends when the cargo is available for pickup. The robot needs to attend to the layer positions, while the rest of the cell organizes the feeding and safe changing of pallets.

Architecture to evaluate

CR-NX-2P

The two-gantry configuration is the main reference for palletizing. The structure and gripper are selected considering load, range and layer pattern.

How it works

The operation in 3 steps.

  1. Receive and collect

Boxes, bales or other volumes arrive oriented at the collection point. The supply organizes the availability of products so that the gripper picks up in the expected position, according to the line cadence.

  2. Form the layers

The robot distributes the volumes in the positions of each layer, following the defined stacking pattern. The sequence considers the orientation, height and stability of the load, in addition to any separators provided for the process.

  3. Change the load

When loading is complete, the cell must allow the full pallet to be removed and an empty one to be made available. The exchange is coordinated with area protections and the resumption of product supply.

Before sizing

The data that makes a difference.

  • Dimensions and mass of boxes, bales or other products.
  • Layer pattern, final height and pallet dimensions.
  • Arrival cadence and collection positions.
  • Changing pallets, circulation and area protections.
Prepare the survey

Conditions to evaluate

  • Load stability depends on packaging and stacking pattern.
  • Pallet exchange and circulation need to be foreseen in the cell.
  • Separators, load wrapping and transport are interfaces to be defined.

What to validate upon delivery

Load formation according to the defined standard, with supply and exchange of pallets included in the analysis.
